, is that oakland, that accent? [laughter] >> i guess from my perspective, it never hurts to ask. we have a huge variety of sponsors. for example rona who is like a lowe's or home depot who is supplying or providing paint. they are a sponsor of my program. so, they provide me a 45% discount on paint as well as they give me a 25% discount coupon that we give to everybody. they supply the materials for my wipe outs, they supply the paint for my wipe out. cis -- not cis, seco paint has been providing paint the last number of years for wipe out. i know it's discouraging, but i think what i've found in terms of getting corporate sponsorship is starting at your local store and working it that way, trying to get them on board. and once you get them on board on small little events, then piece them off to get the bigger ones. so, for example, glad bag sponsors our 15 to clean program. they provide all the bags and all the gloves for our whole spring campaign. and it's possible. so does safeway. safeway sponsors one of our litter programs where they -- we pay nonprofit groups to go in the community, pick

saying in oakland that could be a last place team. they won their division. you just don't know from year to year what young players are going to develop and what free agents will pay off. >> let's talk about the new york yankees. we just heard derek jeter, he's on the front of "new york times" today as well, jeter may be nursing an injury. curtis granderson, a-rod, all hurt as well. what does this mean for the yankees and what does it mean for them considering perhaps newer talent? i hate that that "new york times" headline was talking about the aging face of like a-rod. are you kidding me? >> we can also include mark teixeira in that group. i'm 52 so i know what you're saying about the age thing. i think even more importantly is the yankees who are an organization that just doesn't -- just doesn't bow down to injuries. i know they'll try to tread water and and winning team until those players get back. so i have seen it before. they've had injuries and they've seemed to withstand it. we'll have to get great efforts from ichiro, speed from gardner, maybe edwardo nunez will be able to hol

of an oscar nominated movie "moneyball". the goal should be wins. >> and the oakland a's made it famous and now teams across the majors are adopting it. >> there are no doubts that are statistics allowing you to make cleaner statistics. >> it relies on stats that allows less emphasis on traits like power. instead, focusing on simpler concepts, getting on base, drawing walks and scoring runs. they're going to find new ways to evaluate you because that's their job as a front office. >> for small market teams, moneyball is a hit. >> it's not just a curiosity, it's a difference between winning a championship and not. >> and one of the number crunchers, the life long kansas city royals fans, teams like his ignore them at their own peril. >> the royals the last 20 years have drawn fewer walks than any team in baseball and not coincidentally lost more. they may not settle the value to a team and not every team embraces the idea. the san francisco giants won two out of the last three world series and mostly ignore it. and there is one thing that numbers can't measure, heart. in los angeles, ada

th straight year. reminds me of that movie money ball. >> that is right. great film. oakland a's won the west and they had a low payroll. >> heather: i have to get this question in. one of our viewers he tweeted in a question, he wanted to know will tiger win the open --, he, will he win the masters? >> this is great time. we have opening day tonight and then we the final four next week. in two weeks we'll have sunday at augusta, trying to win his fifth green jacket. he hasn't won a major since 2008 at torrey pines. to answer your question, i don't have an answer to the question. tune in and watch. if you can't watch you can listen to me and our crew and final four but at the masters. >> heather: so jealous. what do you think? >> gregg: i think he can do it. he is lights out the best player right now. he has won three tournaments, jim? >> he has won three tournaments this year, six in the last calendar year, three this season. it's just an outstanding what he has been able to do. number one player after not being number one since november of 2010 when he had the big scandal in 2009 t

showing up with shotguns in oakland to meetings. >> right. >> and so we -- >> but are you saying you're advocating that? i mean, that was a joke. that was a joke. >> trying to calculate my youtube hits. >> my question was is what do you think of that? >> listen, i think -- i think there is value in a movement like occupy wall street put in today's context that essentially makes, you know, the sorkin piece in the "new york times" the other day where he writes, he admits himself, that a bank ceo called him up and said should i be worried about these protesters, and he says, i don't know, i'll go down there and check it out for you, and he frames it in this notion that the bank executive, rather than being worried about is this going to be an accountability moment for my bank, am i going -- he's worried about his own personal safety. i think that's unfortunate because that's not the idea. the idea of social unrest is the only leverage that people have in not going along with what the program is. >> i want to pause on one quick thing and remind ourselves, one, that there was tons of civi
